The team behind the PvPvE action game *Dungeonborne*, which drew inspiration from the acclaimed *Dark and Darker*, has announced that they will cease support for the game and shut down its servers. Launched with much anticipation, *Dungeonborne* unfortunately struggled to maintain its player base, ultimately succumbing to low engagement and a dearth of substantial updates.
While *Dungeonborne*'s page remains available on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. Although the developers have not officially detailed the reasons behind this decision, it's evident that the game's dwindling player numbers were a significant factor. Since the latter part of 2024, *Dungeonborne* has consistently seen fewer than 200 players online at any given time, with recent activity plummeting to a mere 10-15 players.
The final shutdown of *Dungeonborne*'s servers is scheduled for May 28, effectively bringing the project to a close. What started as a promising venture for fans of the genre will now be relegated to memory, never having the chance to fulfill its initial promise.
