10-Minute Overview Trailer
Elden Ring Nightreign's release is just around the corner, and fans are eager to dive into this multiplayer Souls RPG. On May 2, FromSoftware released a comprehensive overview trailer for Nightreign, delving into the game’s lore, features, and core mechanics.
As the trailer explains, "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is a co-op survival action game where you explore a vast and perilous landscape with other players. As a Nightfarer, you must endure the ceaseless night and battle hordes of vicious enemies over a three-day cycle."

The trailer gave viewers a look at what the game offers, detailing the structure of each playthrough. Players are sent into the realm of Limveld to hunt the Nightlords who dominate the region. Their mission is to defeat these powerful beings by overcoming enemies, discovering treasures, and more.
As shown, the core loop involves gathering resources during daylight hours, then confronting boss enemies at night. Each passing day shrinks the map and introduces new hostile forces. On the third and final day, players must vanquish a formidable Nightlord to complete the expedition.
According to the trailer, "the layout of Limveld changes with each visit." This means that base locations, enemy types, chest contents, and other elements are procedurally generated for every run. Expeditions can also be disrupted by surprise enemy attacks or unexpected events like meteor showers or volcanic activity.
Final Two Classes Teased

The overview trailer gave fans a sneak peek at the two remaining classes in Nightreign, which have not yet been officially introduced. While showing the character selection screen, the video revealed a new character named Executor.
Executor appears to be a sword-wielding knight capable of imbuing his weapon with energy. A brief scene displayed his ability to parry and counterattack. At the end of the Nightfarer segment, a quick glimpse was shown of another character—a gray-haired female figure holding what looks like a harp.
Expect character trailers for these Nightfarers in the weeks leading up to the game’s release.
The Roundtable Hold

Nightreign also includes a base camp where players can organize their gear before setting out into Limveld. The hidden Roundtable serves as a hub for equipping relics, purchasing supplies, and customizing characters.
Relics are special items collected during expeditions that enhance players’ abilities. Experimenting with different relic combinations allows for varied playstyles, encouraging players to tailor their approach. These relics can also be obtained from a small Jar Merchant hidden in a corner of the base. To make purchases, players use "Murk," a currency earned in battle.

Additionally, players can use a "fitting mirror" to change their character’s appearance. These outfits are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay. The trailer featured a range of customizable costumes, including familiar Souls series outfits like Solaire of Astora, Faraam, God of War, and Ringfinger Leonhard from Dark Souls 3.
Players can also gather "fragments of lost memories" during their travels, which add depth to each Nightfarer’s backstory. These fragments may introduce new objectives to complete during runs, helping to uncover the origins and motivations of each character.
PC System Requirements

Fortunately, Nightreign’s PC requirements are far less punishing than the game’s enemies and bosses. In an April 28 post on X (formerly Twitter), FromSoftware shared the minimum and recommended system specs, which are quite accessible for most gaming PCs.
The gap between minimum and recommended settings is minimal. The minimum specs call for an Intel Core i5-10600 or Ryzen 5 5500, while the recommended specs suggest an Intel Core i5-11500 or Ryzen 5 5600. Memory requirements are similarly close—12 GB for minimum and 16 GB recommended.
The graphics card requirements are also modest: a GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580 at minimum, and a GTX 1070 or Radeon RX Vega 56 for recommended performance. Players have praised FromSoftware for the game’s efficient optimization, especially its low storage requirement of just 30 GB.

With less than a month until launch, FromSoftware’s latest reveals have only heightened anticipation for this cooperative survival experience. The overview trailer provides plenty for fans to look forward to as the release date nears.
