Mitsuhiro Arita, a renowned artist celebrated for his iconic Pokémon Trading Card Game artwork (including the coveted Charizard), is bringing his unique style to Magic: The Gathering. A new Secret Lair drop features four cards showcasing Arita's distinctive artistic vision, and we have an exclusive preview.

While not Arita's first foray into Magic (he previously illustrated a borderless Lumra, Bellow of the Woods), this Secret Lair marks a significant expansion, featuring four cards simultaneously.
The selection includes cards with diverse playability across various formats. The legendary Lightning Bolt is a staple across many formats, and Murktide Regent remains a powerful force in Modern and Legacy. Light-Paws enjoys widespread Commander popularity, while Shorikai is a favorite in Vintage Cubes and ranks among the top 20 most popular Commanders according to EDHRec.
Wizards of the Coast's store page describes the drop: "Mitsuhiro Arita, with nearly 30 years of experience creating beloved art for trading card games, has crafted some of the world's most recognizable card art. His first Magic: The Gathering collaboration, a borderless Lumra, Bellow of the Woods from 2024's Bloomburrow, quickly became a fan favorite. This Secret Lair Drop sees the legendary artist return, showcasing his iconic creature designs across four exceptional cards."
This Secret Lair will be available on the Secret Lair website, priced at $29.99 (non-foil) and $39.99 (foil). Both versions are available while supplies last, launching Monday, February 10th at 9 am PT. Given the quick sell-out history of Secret Lairs since the shift away from the print-to-order system, interested buyers should act swiftly.
