Xbox's popular racing game, Forza Horizon 5, is making its way to PlayStation consoles!
In a surprising announcement from Playground Games, the latest installment in the Forza Horizon series will be hitting the PS5 this spring. This follows other Xbox exclusives like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, making the jump to PlayStation.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version will boast the same content as its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions, such as the thrilling Hot Wheels and the adventurous Rally Adventure.
This move reflects Xbox's growing strategy of expanding its game reach beyond its own consoles. Xbox head Phil Spencer has publicly confirmed the company's commitment to supporting the Nintendo Switch 2, further highlighting this broader approach.Microsoft's recent investor call revealed some interesting figures. While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny achieved 4 million players, and PC Game Pass saw a 30% growth boosting services revenue by 2%, overall gaming revenue dipped due to a nearly 30% drop in console sales. This shift in performance may be prompting Xbox to prioritize Game Pass and increase its presence on other platforms.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the acclaimed open-world racing series. A bit more arcade-style than its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 lets players race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico. Read our full review [ttpp]here[ttpp].
