This week, we challenged our App Army's puzzle-solving skills with the newly released puzzle adventure, A Fragile Mind, developed by Glitch Games. The game combines classic escape room mechanics with a dash of humor, aiming to create a light-hearted yet challenging experience. We invited our community to dive in and share their insights on this intriguing title.

Upon first glance at the game's icon, I expected a rather dull experience due to its seemingly outdated look. However, diving into the gameplay revealed a unique and engaging puzzle adventure. The puzzles are indeed challenging, yet they captivate you throughout. This is one of the best puzzle games I've encountered. While I won't spoil much, I highly recommend playing A Fragile Mind on a tablet for the best experience.

A Fragile Mind is a point-and-click puzzle-solving adventure featuring static pre-rendered graphics. The storyline, if there is one, remains a mystery to me. The game is structured into chapters, each representing a floor of a building, where you tackle progressively complex puzzles to ascend. Interestingly, you can advance to the next floor without solving all current puzzles, as some require items from subsequent floors. The game cleverly breaks the fourth wall, with humorous touches like item descriptions stating they're "not detailed enough to be important." The hint system is a godsend, though perhaps a bit too lenient, allowing rapid progression through hints which automatically adjust to your current puzzle. I reached the third floor before leaning heavily on hints.
The puzzles themselves are cleverly designed, becoming obvious once you grasp the solution, without feeling obscure or random. Glitch Games clearly has experience in this genre. However, navigating between rooms and corridors can be confusing, which slightly detracts from the experience. Overall, while it may not convert non-fans, it's a strong entry in the genre and I'll continue playing.

In A Fragile Mind, you awaken in a garden within a building, amnesiac and disoriented. The game involves taking photos, collecting objects, and solving puzzles to progress. While the graphics and sound are serviceable, the puzzles are challenging, often requiring a walkthrough. The game is relatively short, with little replay value post-completion. However, if you enjoy puzzle adventures, it's definitely worth playing.

Escape-the-room puzzles have been some of my favorite mobile experiences. Unfortunately, A Fragile Mind falls on the lower end of the quality spectrum. The muddy presentation makes it hard to distinguish puzzle pieces, and certain UI design choices, like the top-left corner menu button, can be accidentally tapped, disrupting the flow. The game's pacing feels off, with too many puzzles available from the start, leading to confusion. I relied on the hint system early on just to navigate.

Typically, I find puzzle games too difficult for the payoff they offer. However, A Fragile Mind pleasantly surprised me. It features ample audio and visual options, creating an appealing aesthetic and atmosphere. The puzzles and clues are engaging, and the hint system is user-friendly, guiding you through challenges and offering solutions when needed. It's a concise yet rewarding experience at a small price, and I recommend it.

Imagine waking up disoriented in your car in front of an abandoned circus, with a note hinting at a trunk. This scenario encapsulates the experience of playing A Fragile Mind (without spoilers). Glitch Games has elevated the puzzle genre, layering puzzles intricately like a Jenga tower. Each room offers multiple clues for various puzzles, requiring meticulous note-taking and in-game photography to progress.
The game runs smoothly on Android, particularly on Google Pixel phones, with numerous visual and sound options, enhancing accessibility. Expert puzzle solvers can finish in about an hour, enjoying the humor and puns along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with A Fragile Mind.
