FragPunk, the eagerly anticipated multiplayer first-person shooter, has made its debut on PC, drawing a mixed response with a 67% rating on Steam. Early feedback from the community highlights both the game's innovative features and areas for improvement.
The heart of FragPunk's gameplay is its unique fragment-cards system. These cards introduce a dynamic twist to each 5v5 battle, allowing players to alter the rules of combat on the fly. "The cards can be combined, counteract one another, and add a new layer of tactical depth to the classic gameplay," the developers at Bad Guitar explain. This system ensures that no two matches are the same, offering a fresh experience every time players log in.
Players have 13 distinct launchers to choose from, each equipped with special abilities that cater to different playstyles. Whether you thrive on teamwork or prefer to showcase your individual skills, FragPunk accommodates both approaches, making it a versatile choice for online matches.
However, console gamers will have to wait longer to experience FragPunk. Bad Guitar announced an unexpected delay for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions just two days before the planned March 6 release across all platforms. Citing "unforeseen technical issues," the studio has not yet provided a new release date but has committed to keeping the community informed about future developments.
