Genshin Impact Leak Suggests Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak hints at a potential Wriothesley rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, marking over a year since his initial appearance. This highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its extensive roster of over 90 playable characters with the limited rerun slots available on Event Banners. With a projected average of one new 5-star character per update, the demand for reruns significantly outpaces the supply.

While the Chronicled Banner aimed to address this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. The extended wait for Shenhe's rerun (over 600 days) exemplifies the limitations of the current system. Until the implementation of triple banners, extended rerun wait times are likely to persist.

Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, has been absent from Event Banners since November 8, 2023. His strong performance in Burnmelt teams makes his return highly anticipated. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, suggests his inclusion in Version 5.4's Event Banners.

A Grain of Salt:

It's crucial to approach this leak with caution. Flying Flame's track record regarding Natlan leaks has been inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate. However, the recent Spiral Abyss buff, which benefits Wriothesley's playstyle, lends some credibility to the rumor.

Version 5.4 Speculation:

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured, the remaining Event Banner slot might feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a sequential rerun. Version 5.4's launch is projected for February 12, 2025.
