Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5's Michael De Santa (Ned Luke) offers fans reassurance regarding GTA 6's worthiness of the anticipation, and boldly predicts its launch day revenue. Discover his insights and expectations for GTA 6's development.
Rockstar Games' Unconventional Approach to GTA 6
GTA 6's Projected $1.3 Billion Day-One Revenue
Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, anticipates GTA 6 generating a staggering $1.3 billion in its first 24 hours. In a recent interview with Fall Damage on YouTube, Luke expressed his confidence in the game's success, highlighting Rockstar Games' unpredictable and innovative approach to game development.
Luke emphasizes patience, assuring fans that "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He cites GTA 5's impressive $800 million day-one revenue in 2013 as a benchmark, predicting that GTA 6 will significantly surpass this figure. Market research firm DFC Intelligence projects over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in revenue within the first year, with $1 billion attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke also shared his perspective on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and, possibly, GTA 6. He notes Michael's absence from GTA Online since its launch, contrasting with the appearances of Trevor and Franklin.
Luke hints at Michael's possible inclusion in a speculated final GTA Online DLC or even a direct role in GTA 6. While Steven Ogg (Trevor) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario for his character (ScreenRant, January 2025), Luke remains tight-lipped, stating, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6... Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, official confirmation regarding their characters' involvement in GTA 6 remains pending.
GTA 6: Potentially in the Testing Phase
Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York suggests GTA 6 is likely undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), York emphasizes GTA 6's unique unpredictability as an open-world game, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it."
York believes that the game is currently undergoing internal testing, adding, "They're probably still putting in a little work and throwing in little extras." He suggests the game is at least playable at this stage, with numerous internal testers likely having completed playthroughs.
Following its December 2023 trailer reveal, Rockstar Games has maintained radio silence regarding GTA 6. While a Fall 2025 release was previously suggested (Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report), no official release date has been confirmed.
