Following the March 2025 update, you can discover Essence Stones within chests scattered throughout the mines of *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter was on Floor 60 while searching for items to break the Fire Seal, but keep an eye out on any level across various biomes. Be cautious of mimic enemies that mimic chests and can harm you if you're not careful.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. While smaller stones are more common, larger ones are out there if you're willing to explore. If you're struggling to find them, you can also craft them using the new Stone Refinery, which you can build within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

To craft Essence Stones, you'll need to construct the Stone Refinery inside the mines, a task introduced with the latest update. This involves completing specific story quests with Adeline, Olric, and Errol. To build the refinery, gather the following materials:

• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once your Stone Refinery is up and running, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes. The materials required vary by size:

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones. Larger stones provide a longer charge duration, making them ideal for sustained use.

The auto-petter mechanic is activated with the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue ensures all your animals are automatically petted daily, as long as it's powered by an Essence Stone. You can find this rare statue in a hidden cave near Errol’s house in the Narrows, accessible with the Dragon’s Breath spell. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues if needed.

The sprinkler mechanic, on the other hand, is enabled by the Water Sprite Statue. Place it anywhere on your farm, and it will water crops within a 2-tile radius, provided it's powered by an Essence Stone. You can find this statue and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse. Use Dragon’s Breath to access the island.
