Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered offers an engaging blend of action-packed gameplay with extensive customization options for weapons and outfits. Whether you're looking to sneak past machines or dominate in melee and ranged combat, the right outfit can make all the difference. However, there are times when you'll crave the combined benefits of multiple outfits. Fortunately, with the right approach, you can achieve this, albeit with certain limitations. Let's dive into how you can make the most out of your outfits.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the benefits of dual outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn, you'll need the Remastered version. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of stats.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To harness the power of two outfits, there are key prerequisites to consider. This technique isn't universal across all outfits. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of the following three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, meaning you can't start using this method right away. However, you don't need to finish the base game to access this expansion.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Start by reaching the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If it's challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once you're in, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue Merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main mission in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this quest is tough. Alternatively, switch to Story mode for an easier completion. The process for the Adept version is identical, but you can only get it in New Game Plus.
Once you've secured the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. Continuing with the Frozen Wilds content is optional.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
First, equip your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Enhance these stats with Weaves if desired. Then, use the transmog feature to overlay the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these outfits don't add to your stats, they do offer an automatic healing perk after taking damage for a short time.
This technique allows you to maintain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, taking minimal damage and healing automatically when you do. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits' healing perk activates more quickly than the Runner's, so prioritize these if available.
