Navigating the expansive and often desolate Synthwave landscape of the Overgrowth in Hyper Light Breaker can be challenging. However, with the Hoverboard at your disposal from the very beginning, you can transform this journey into an exhilarating adventure. This guide will walk you through how to summon and effectively use your Hoverboard, enhancing your traversal speed and adding fun to your exploration.
How To Summon A Hoverboard In Hyper Light Breaker
To start sprinting and summon your Hoverboard in Hyper Light Breaker, simply hold down the Dodge input. Your character will dash forward and seamlessly transition onto the Hoverboard as long as you maintain the Dodge input.
Controlling your movement on the Hoverboard is straightforward. Use the left analog stick to lean and steer in any direction. At top speeds, turning can be a bit sluggish, but at slower speeds, you'll find it much easier to maneuver precisely.
To dismount, release the Dodge input. Keep in mind, your Hoverboard will automatically disappear if you deplete your Energy while riding. You can monitor your current Energy level next to your Breaker's companion. If your Energy is running low, take a moment to hop off and allow it to recharge to avoid an unexpected dismount.
Hoverboard Movement Tips & Special Uses
While you can't perform tricks or attack while on the Hoverboard, it offers unique functionalities that enhance your gameplay experience. A standout feature is its ability to float on water, allowing you to traverse the rivers and inlets of the Overgrowth without interruption. Remember, you need to be on the Hoverboard before entering the water; it won't summon while you're already submerged. No matter your entry speed or jump height, the Hoverboard will swiftly return to the surface, ensuring a smooth ride.
Additionally, holding down the Jump input while on the Hoverboard lets you duck and prepare for a leap. Although you can't double-jump, the increased speed can help you clear larger gaps. Ducking doesn't boost your speed or jump height, but it's crucial for timing those challenging jumps accurately.
