The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch with regional pricing variations between Japan and global markets. Discover key pricing details for different editions below.
Japanese Switch 2 Model Priced More Competitively Than International Version
Dual Language System Options Available

The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will feature distinct pricing between Japan and overseas markets, offering two system variants: a Japanese-language exclusive edition and a multilingual global version. The domestic Japanese model will retail for approximately $330, while the international multilingual edition carries a $449.99 price tag - representing a $120 premium. This substantial difference primarily reflects the yen's current depreciation against the US dollar, effectively discouraging tourist purchases in Japan.
Japanese residents retain access to both versions, though the Japanese-language system imposes regional restrictions. This model exclusively supports Japanese interfaces and limits Nintendo Account registration to Japan-registered profiles. Furthermore, it only permits downloads of Japan-region software from the Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo explicitly recommends the multilingual version for customers requiring non-Japanese language support. Complete specifications for the global edition will be unveiled on April 4.
My Nintendo Store to Implement Lottery Sales System

Prospective Switch 2 buyers must participate in a lottery through the My Nintendo Store platform. Nationwide retailers and e-commerce sites will commence reservations and lottery entries on April 24, subject to inventory availability. The My Nintendo Store lottery imposes these eligibility criteria:
⚫︎ Minimum 50 hours of gameplay time across Nintendo Switch titles (excluding demos and free software) recorded by February 28, 2025
⚫︎ Active Nintendo Switch Online subscription with at least one year of cumulative membership upon application
Detailed application procedures will be published on the My Nintendo Store by April 4.
