Following several Closed Alpha tests, Splitgate 2 is opening its doors to everyone with a new Open Alpha Test. This exciting opportunity lets players experience the highly anticipated sequel before its full release.

When Does the Open Alpha Begin?

The Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Test kicks off on February 27, 2025, and runs until March 2, 2025, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

How to Join the Open Alpha:

Joining the fun is easy! On February 27th:

  1. Visit your preferred digital storefront (Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store).
  2. Search for "Splitgate 2".
  3. Download the Crossplay Alpha Test.

What Awaits You in the Open Alpha:

The Open Alpha features cross-platform play and introduces a massive new game mode: Multi-Team Portal Warfare. This mode throws 24 players (three teams of eight) into Splitgate's largest map yet. Prepare for intense action, new weapons, perks, and equipment!

The core gameplay revolves around the iconic portal mechanics, allowing for creative strategies and spectacular plays. While new character classes with unique abilities will be introduced, the core portal system remains central to the experience. Developer 1047 Games emphasizes that player feedback has heavily influenced the game's development, promising a defining FPS experience.
