The renowned French studio Don't Nod, creators of the acclaimed Life is Strange series, has just launched the first chapter of their latest narrative-driven adventure. Fans can now immerse themselves in "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" slated for a free release to all buyers on April 15.
Initially unveiled in 2023, this new game delves into the haunting tale of a group of friends who were mysteriously separated during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the specters of that fateful summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and chilling repercussions.
Drawing inspiration from classics like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game weaves a compelling tapestry of nostalgia and psychological thriller elements. Don't Nod has opted to release the game in two distinct parts: "Bloom" and "Rage." As of today, February 18, players can experience the first half of this eerie narrative.
The eagerly awaited second part, dubbed "The Tape," is set to launch on April 15. Originally planned for a March release, the delay aims to deliver a more refined and polished experience to players.
With the review embargo now lifted, OpenCritic reports an average critic score of 74/100, indicating a promising start for this enthralling mystery.
