Limited Edition Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition Now Available for Pre-Order in Japan

Marking Monster Hunter's 20th anniversary, Capcom's legendary action-RPG franchise has partnered with Digimon to release a special "Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition" version of the iconic virtual pet device. The commemorative edition features color schemes inspired by classic Monster Hunter beasts Rathalos and Zinogre, priced at ¥7,700 (~$53.20 USD) before additional fees.

The anniversary Digimon COLOR devices boast advanced color LCD screens, UV printing technology, and built-in rechargeable batteries. Maintaining previous versions' functionality, they include customizable backgrounds and a "Cold Mode" feature that temporarily halts monster growth while preserving their hunger and strength states. The devices also incorporate a backup system to safeguard your digital companions and gameplay progress.

Pre-orders are now live at Bandai's Japanese online store, though international buyers should note potential additional shipping costs as these are currently Japan-exclusive releases.

No worldwide release plans have been announced yet for the Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition. Demand has been overwhelming - units sold out within hours of announcement, with the first pre-order window closing today at 23:00 JST (07:00 PT/10:00 ET). Bandai will announce details about the second pre-order phase soon via their official Digimon Web Twitter account. The collector's item is scheduled for an April 2025 release.
