"Monster Train Launches on Android: A Slay the Spire-Inspired Game"

Monster Train, a fresh roguelite deck-building game, has finally made its way to Android after launching initially for PC in 2020, followed by console releases and an iOS debut in 2022. Known for its gameplay mechanics, it draws comparisons to Slay the Spire due to its engaging and strategic approach.

What Sets Monster Train Apart?

Set aboard a train journeying towards the icy depths of hell, players assume the role of guardians protecting the final burning pyre from celestial attackers. One of the game's standout features is its innovative three-lane combat system, allowing players to manage multiple battlefields simultaneously—a unique twist compared to traditional roguelike games.

As you progress, you'll unlock more than 250 cards distributed across five distinct monster factions. Each faction offers entirely different gameplay styles, enabling combinations of two clans per run. Additionally, each clan boasts ten upgrade tiers, enhancing card strength as you advance.

The Android release includes all post-launch updates such as Wild Mutations and Friends & Foes. Wild Mutations introduces 35 new mutators along with advanced difficulty modes. Meanwhile, Friends & Foes expands content with new champions, bosses, cards, and artifacts.

Included in the package is The Last Divinity DLC, adding significant replayability through the introduction of the Wurmkin clan. Unlockable upon completing Covenant level 1, this DLC introduces Pact Shards offering enhanced powers and culminating in the formidable boss fight against 'The Last Divinity.'

Is Monster Train Worth Your Time?

Available fully offline—even in airplane mode—the Android version of Monster Train retails for $10. Although in-app purchases exist, they primarily focus on unlocking the full game. Purchases via your Google account ensure seamless transitions between devices. Cloud saving ensures no loss of progress when switching phones.

However, keep in mind that controller support isn't available. For those interested, Monster Train can be found on the Google Play Store. Don’t forget to explore our coverage on Black Desert Mobile’s latest season featuring PvP championships.
