Recent online buzz suggested Santa Monica Studio was poised to make a major announcement at the upcoming 20th-anniversary celebration for God of War. To help set the record straight and manage expectations, the studio has now officially addressed the rumors.
Image: x.comSpeculation had pointed toward the potential announcement of classic God of War remasters during the event, a claim amplified by insider and journalist Jeff Grubb. The growing excitement ultimately led Santa Monica to issue a direct clarification:
"Pantheons collide! We're thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War, where we will reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event." Santa Monica Studio
While no new games were announced, fans were gifted with new thematic artwork featuring Kratos and Jörmungandr. The panel, scheduled for March 22, will also include appearances by cast members from the God of War series, such as Terrence Carson (the voice of Kratos) and Carole Ruggier (the voice of Athena).
