"Nintendo Direct Confirms Switch 2 Release Date"

The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 finally has a confirmed release date: June 5, 2025. Priced at $449.99, this latest iteration marks a significant evolution in portable gaming. For those looking to dive straight into action, the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle will be available for $499.99 in the U.S., featuring the system and a download code for the Mario Kart World game, launching alongside the console.

The Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with essential accessories, including the console itself, two Joy-Con controllers (L+R), a Joy-Con grip, straps for both controllers, a dock, an Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable, an AC adapter, and a USB-C charging cable. Separately, Mario Kart World retails for $79.99, marking a $10 increase from previous titles in the series.

In a statement, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa expressed excitement over the new features that enhance the gaming experience. "Nintendo Switch 2 is the next step in at-home gaming that can be taken on the go, building on eight years of play and discovery since the original Nintendo Switch," he said. "I truly believe that Nintendo Switch 2 represents a leap forward in our mission to bring smiles to everyone touched by Nintendo."
