Nintendo has postponed the Japanese retail release of its Alarmo alarm clock due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock. Read on for details about the delay and future availability.
Japanese Alarmo General Sale Postponed
Production Can't Keep Up with Demand
Nintendo Japan announced a postponement of the general sale of the Alarmo alarm clock, originally scheduled for February 2025. The delay is attributed to current production and inventory limitations. There's no word yet on whether this will affect international availability, with a global launch currently planned for March 2025.
In the interim, Nintendo is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. Pre-orders will open in mid-December, with shipments beginning in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced separately.
The Popular Nintendo Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock featuring iconic melodies from popular Nintendo franchises, including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and Ring Fit Adventure, with more soundtracks planned via future updates.
Its initial release saw unexpectedly high demand, quickly leading to the suspension of online orders and a lottery system for remaining stock. The alarm clock sold out completely at physical Nintendo stores in Japan and even the New York Nintendo store.
