Nintendo Unveils App for Fans: A Hub for News and Content

Author : Samuel Update:Apr 06,2025

Nintendo Today is a fresh app from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news directly to fans in a more immediate way than ever before. During the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, video game icon Shigeru Miyamoto unveiled this exciting new tool, which is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. This app is a must-have for die-hard Nintendo enthusiasts, offering a range of exclusive features.

Serving as a comprehensive hub, Nintendo Today functions as both a daily calendar and a news feed, ensuring players receive the latest updates as they happen. Miyamoto highlighted that following the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, fans can log into the app to stay updated, with new content being added daily. This approach is more direct than traditional Nintendo Directs, encouraging fans to stay engaged with regular updates, even outside of major announcements.

As you open the app each day, you'll be greeted by beloved characters from franchises like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing, making your daily check-in a delightful experience. The feed will not only keep you informed with the latest news but also entertain you with Nintendo-themed content. Highlights from the Nintendo Direct included a new Pikmin 4 comic titled "Too Stuck to Pluck" and "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal, the wise-cracking otter.

While Nintendo Today may not be the blockbuster announcement some fans were hoping for, such as news on Zelda or Super Smash Bros., it provides another valuable channel for fans to connect with the world of Nintendo. For more details on announcements like Metroid, Pokémon, and other reveals from the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, you can find more information here.
