If we had to pick the most impactful and unforgettable trailer from the recent State of Play, the top spot would undoubtedly go to the new Onimusha game, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which introduced its protagonist: Miyamoto Musashi.
Capcom crafted his character model in the likeness of the legendary Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune. In the trailer, Musashi fiercely cuts down demons that have surged from the depths of hell into Kyoto—though at moments, he comically attempts to flee from them.
The narrative reveals that the protagonist, through his conviction, becomes the bearer of the Oni Gauntlet. His mission is now to battle the monsters infesting the world of the living and absorb their essences. This allows him to restore his vitality and unleash powerful special abilities.
We also saw a new trailer for the Onimusha 2 remaster. The stark contrast between the two trailers perfectly illustrates the remarkable evolution and improvement in graphics over the years.
