Initial Troubleshooting Steps:

Several in-game settings adjustments can resolve freezing problems:

  • Graphics API: Switch between Vulkan and DirectX 11 at launch.
  • V-Sync: Disable V-Sync in the graphics settings.
  • Multithreading: Disable multithreading in the graphics settings.

Advanced Solution (for persistent freezing):

If the above steps fail, a more involved workaround, suggested by Steam user svzanghi, can help avoid complete system restarts:

  1. Start Path of Exile 2.
  2. Open your PC's Task Manager and select the "Details" tab.
  3. Right-click on the POE2.exe process and choose "Set Affinity."
  4. Uncheck the boxes for CPU 0 and CPU 1.

This prevents a full system reboot, allowing you to force-quit the game via Task Manager and relaunch without losing progress. However, this workaround requires repetition each time you start the game.
