GoldenEye fans, rejoice! IO Interactive has officially announced that their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's website, this game will dive into an entirely new narrative within the Bond universe, offering players a fresh take on the iconic spy.
In Project 007, players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent and embark on an origin story to earn their 00 status. This marks the first time gamers will experience a completely original James Bond story. Hakan Abrak, head of IO Interactive, shared his excitement about the project with IGN back in October, emphasizing that this isn't just a game based on a movie, but an entirely new beginning and journey for Bond.
Abrak highlighted the ambition for the game to potentially become part of a larger trilogy, and stressed the significance of crafting a new Bond character specifically for gamers. "It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers," he stated, aiming to create a young Bond that players can grow with and call their own, while still respecting the rich tradition and history of the franchise.
