PUBG Mobile Global Open Starts with Nearly 100,000 Participants

Author : Emery Update:Apr 15,2025

The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has kicked off, marking the first international PUBG Mobile Esports event of the year. With over 90,000 competitors registered, the excitement is palpable as the Open Qualifiers began on February 13th. This stage offers a golden opportunity for emerging talent to make their mark and vie for a coveted spot in the PMGO Main Event.

A hefty $500,000 prize pool is up for grabs, setting the stage for intense competition. The tournament is exclusively open to amateurs, ensuring that new talent gets a chance to shine without the pressure of facing established teams right away. To progress, participants will need to excel through multiple rounds of qualifiers.

Teams with at least one player ranked in the Ultimate 500 from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have directly advanced to Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Over the coming weeks, these emerging squads will battle fiercely to secure a place in the PMGO Prelims, where they'll face off against the top performers from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.

The Prelims will determine the twelve teams that will advance to the PMGO Main Event, where they'll compete against PUBG Mobile's elite professional teams. Four professional teams—Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage—have already secured their spots based on their performances at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024. Additionally, four more teams will join from regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.

The Open Qualifiers are set to continue until March 2nd, with the Prelims scheduled for April 10th-11th, leading directly into the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This tournament is just the beginning of a packed year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and the PMGC slated to return later in 2025.
