Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will cease operation on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC after nearly six years on Android.
Reasons for the Shutdown:
The game's underperformance over the past five and a half years ultimately led to this decision. Factors contributing to its decline include repetitive events, reused assets, and expensive battle passes. Furthermore, questionable narrative choices, such as a sudden shift in storyline, also impacted the game's popularity. The closure affects the game globally, including Japan.
Positive Aspects:
Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re LIVE had some redeeming qualities. Its soundtrack, featuring music from the anime, and its high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations were highlights.
A Final Farewell:
While the game's lifespan is ending, players still have several weeks to enjoy remaining content. Developers are launching special events in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free pulls daily and a two-month birthday celebration featuring new gacha events.
