Silver Surfer Illuminated in Fantastic Four Trailer Amid Galactus Threat

Author : Eric Update:May 01,2025

The latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps offers an exciting glimpse into a new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) world, showcasing how Julia Garner's Silver Surfer fits into this vibrant narrative. This two-and-a-half-minute clip delves deeper into how Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) have crafted their universe into a thriving utopia. In this world, Marvel's First Family is not only revered as a (growing) team of heroes who save the day but also serve as inspiring figures for people of all ages. Yet, their prowess is about to be challenged when Garner's Silver Surfer descends from the sky, heralding the ominous arrival of Galactus.

PlayToday's trailer is significantly more action-packed compared to previous footage. We see Ben Grimm smashing through pillars and get a fresh perspective on Reed Richards' stretchy abilities. These are innovative interpretations of the classic powers the Fantastic Four have wielded for decades, and fans will get a comprehensive view of their teamwork when the film hits theaters this July.

Julia Garner's portrayal of Silver Surfer truly captivates in this trailer. Despite her brief dialogue warning that this alternate Earth is now "marked for death," her character exudes a formidable presence as she effortlessly counters the Human Torch and navigates through explosions. While the trailer keeps Galactus' full, updated MCU appearance under wraps, we do catch a glimpse of him menacingly stomping through the city upon his arrival.
