After seven years of building homes, creating sims, and simulating life on mobile devices, The Sims Mobile is shutting down. EA has confirmed the game will go offline on January 20th, 2026, bringing its journey to a close since its 2018 launch.
The announcement coincides with the game’s final update, now live. This update introduces a series of farewell events, unlimited energy, and one final celebration before the servers permanently shut down.
What’s included in the final update?
The last wave of events runs through January. The Eerie Autumn Festival Pass is already live and runs until December 19th, followed by rotating themed content such as Cozier Home, Hallways Ready, and Season’s Greetings.
Several Wumple’s Wishlist quests are returning, offering small, time-limited goals each week. The final major event, New Year’s Dock and Roll, takes place from December 29th to January 10th. The last Wumple’s Wishlist quest concludes on January 17th.
Developers have also prepared a special treat before shutdown. On January 6th, 2026, all Build Mode and Create A Sim items in The Sims Mobile will be unlocked for every player, removing all level restrictions.
Got The Sims Mobile on your phone?
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store. However, if you already have it installed, you can still play and redownload it from your device until the shutdown.
Real-money purchases are no longer available, but any remaining SimCash, Simoleons, or Tickets can still be used until the end. The final update also provides unlimited energy to help you complete your stories or finish builds. For more details, visit the official website’s FAQ section.
