Sling TV 2025 Pricing and Plans Unveiled

Author : Isabella Update:Dec 04,2025

While not as widely recognized as Netflix or Hulu, Sling TV has carved a niche in the streaming landscape as the first platform to deliver live TV, launched in 2015. It remains a budget-friendly alternative to traditional cable, offering subscribers a variety of popular channels, DVR functionality, and the flexibility to stream on up to three devices, whether at home or on the go. Below, explore a detailed overview of Sling TV, including its channel offerings, sports coverage (such as MLB games), and monthly costs.

What Is Sling TV?

Sling TV

Sling TV is a subscription-based service delivering live TV, including popular channels, sports, and news, without requiring long-term contracts. It’s a top pick for cord-cutters due to its affordability compared to platforms like YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV, with customizable plans tailored to specific interests. Each plan includes 50 hours of DVR storage, enabling users to record live TV, shows, and movies for later viewing.

Unlike competitors, Sling TV does not offer local channels like ABC, CBS, or NBC. To access these, Sling suggests pairing your subscription with an HD antenna, available separately.

Sling TV is compatible with a wide range of devices, including Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, PS5, PS4, Xbox consoles, select Samsung, LG, and Vizio smart TVs, Google TV, Xfinity devices, TiVo, and more.

Does Sling TV Offer a Free Trial?

Sling TV Freestream

Unlike other live TV streaming platforms like Fubo, Sling TV does not provide a free trial for new users. However, it offers Sling Freestream, a complementary service with numerous free channels and ad-supported content at no cost.

What Channels Are Available on Sling TV?

Sling TV offers two main plans: Orange and Blue, both priced at $45.99 per month, each featuring a distinct channel lineup based on viewer preferences. For comprehensive access, you can combine the Orange and Blue plans for $60.99 per month, unlocking all 46 channels, including 22 exclusive ones.

The Orange plan, ideal for sports enthusiasts and families, includes 35 channels, such as ESPN, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, HGTV, Food Network, Lifetime, Nick Jr., Comedy Central, and TBS. Eight channels are exclusive to this plan, and it supports streaming on one device at a time, with options to add more.

The Blue plan, designed for news buffs and pro football fans, offers 43 channels, including 16 exclusive ones like CNN, Bloomberg TV, Fox (in select markets), FS1, Fox News, MSNBC, and NFL Network. This plan allows streaming on up to three devices simultaneously.

Can You Stream Live Sports on Sling TV?

Yes, Sling TV supports live sports streaming, though local games typically require an HD antenna, sold separately. With channels split between the Orange and Blue plans, subscribers must choose based on preferred sports networks.

The Orange plan includes ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN3, while the Blue plan features NFL Network and FS1. These channels cover events like NFL, NBA, and MLB games. Sports fans can enhance their subscription with Sling’s sports bundle, adding channels like NCAA networks, NFL Redzone, MLB Network, NBA TV, NBC Golf, and the Tennis Channel for a fuller experience.

This setup also allows viewers to catch March Madness games.

How Much Does Sling TV Cost?

Sling TV’s Orange and Blue plans are each priced at $45.99 per month, with the combined plan costing $60.99 monthly. New subscribers can enjoy 50% off their first month with a limited-time offer. For additional savings, prepaying for three months starts at $99.

Optional upgrades enhance the experience. For $5/month, the Unlimited Cloud DVR add-on allows recording of live sports and other content, with an Auto Record feature that saves events for up to three days. Sports fans can also add a sports bundle for $11–15/month, depending on the base plan, for access to more live sports channels.
