Sonic Rumble Pre-Release Event Features Monkey Ball, Altered Beast

Author : Mila Update:Apr 27,2025

While the worldwide release of Sonic Rumble is still a few weeks away, set for May 8th, the game is already gearing up for its first exciting crossover event. This isn't just any crossover; it's a celebration of Sega's iconic characters from past and present, making their way into Sonic Rumble before the game even hits the global market.

This pre-release event is scheduled to run from now until May 7th and is available to players in regions where Sonic Rumble is currently in soft launch. One of the highlights of this event is the opportunity to claim the Werewolf character, inspired by the classic game Altered Beast, completely for free.

For those who subscribe to the Sega Star Event Pass, there's even more to look forward to. Subscribers will have access to the Weredragon from Altered Beast, as well as Opa-Opa, the beloved first mascot from the arcade classic Fantasy Zone.

Sonic Rumble Crossover EventBut that's not all! Additional characters will be available for purchase in the in-game Ring Shop, including Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop will offer characters from Super Monkey Ball, such as AiAi and MeeMee, adding even more variety to your roster.

Hosting such an event before the global release is certainly unconventional, but it's a thrilling opportunity for those who can participate in the soft launch. If you're one of the lucky ones with early access, you'll undoubtedly be eager to add these unique characters to your collection.

Sega has hinted that this is just the beginning of a busy schedule filled with crossovers and collaborations planned for Sonic Rumble, ensuring that fans have plenty to look forward to post-launch.
