Sphere Defense Is a New TD Game Inspired by geoDefense

Sphere Defense: A Retro Tower Defense Experience on Android

Tomnoki Studio's Sphere Defense is a new tower defense game for Android, drawing clear inspiration from the classic geoDefense by David Whatley. The developer, a fan of the original, aimed to recreate its elegantly simple yet challenging gameplay.

The Core Concept:

Earth, or "The Sphere," faces imminent destruction from alien invaders. Humanity, forced underground, has finally developed the technology to fight back. You lead this counter-offensive, deploying defenses to save the planet.

Gameplay:

Sphere Defense offers a classic tower defense experience. Players strategically position various units, each with unique strengths, to repel waves of enemies. Successful engagements reward players with resources to upgrade and expand their defenses. The difficulty increases the strategic depth, demanding careful planning.

Difficulty Levels:

Three difficulty levels (easy, normal, hard) are available, each featuring 10 stages, with each stage lasting 5 to 15 minutes.

Diverse Defensive Units:

Sphere Defense features seven distinct unit types, offering strategic flexibility. These include:

  • Standard Attack Turret: Single-target damage.
  • Area Attack Turret: Area-of-effect damage.
  • Piercing Attack Turret: Damage that penetrates multiple enemies.
  • Cooling Turret: Support unit enhancing other units.
  • Incendiary Turret: Support unit adding extra damage.
  • Fixed-Point Attack Unit: Precise missile strikes.
  • Linear Attack Unit: Satellite laser attacks.
