Texas Chain Saw Massacre Reboot Set for June 2024 Release

Sumo Digital is releasing a crucial update for Texas Chain Saw Massacre on June 25, 2024, targeting several key gameplay and visual improvements. This update focuses heavily on fixing issues within the skill trees of multiple characters, notably Cook, Julie, and the recently added Hands.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Sumo Digital's asymmetrical horror game inspired by the 1974 film, pits players as the infamous Slaughter family against their victims in a thrilling 3v4 multiplayer experience. Set in early 1973, the game follows Ana and her friends as they search for her missing sister, only to encounter the terrifying Leatherface and his family. The game has received praise for its atmospheric horror and faithful recreation of the film's chilling essence.

The June 25th update boasts several improvements. A new cosmetic item, the Hitchhiker’s Claymore outfit, will be available for $2.99 USD. Significant changes address gameplay balance and bug fixes. The lobby cooldown penalty has been refined for smoother matchmaking. Crucially, the update resolves several skill tree problems. Cook's middle path now allows players to reach level 10, thanks to the addition of attribute points. Similarly, issues preventing Julie from reaching level 10 on her left path have been corrected.

Hands, the latest addition to the killer roster, receives substantial adjustments. An exploit allowing excessive stamina use via his ability tree has been patched, along with fixes for his "Reduce Defensive Barge Stamina Cost" upgrades. Several other skill tree issues, such as incorrect node connections, have also been addressed.

The update also includes UI and visual fixes. A bug incorrectly displaying removed perks in character customization has been resolved, ensuring accuracy. Finally, issues with Maria's hair textures and model visibility have been corrected. This update promises a more refined and balanced gameplay experience for all players.
