Warner Bros. Ends

Warner Bros. Games is shutting down its mobile title, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught, less than a year after its release. The game was removed from the Google Play Store and App Store on July 22nd, 2024. In-app purchases will be disabled on August 23rd, 2024, with servers officially going offline October 21st, 2024.

The reasons behind the shutdown remain undisclosed, although it follows NetherRealm's recent closure of its mobile games division, which also developed Mortal Kombat Mobile and Injustice. This suggests a potential shift in the company's mobile gaming strategy.

Refunds for In-App Purchases:

No official information has been released regarding refunds for in-game purchases. NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games promise further updates soon, advising players to monitor their official X (formerly Twitter) account for announcements.

About Mortal Kombat: Onslaught:

Launched in October 2023 to commemorate the franchise's 30th anniversary, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught offered a unique take on the series. Unlike previous installments, it blended action-adventure RPG elements with cinematic storytelling, reminiscent of free-to-play mobile MOBAs. The game centered on Raiden and a player-controlled team thwarting Shinnok's power grab.
