The ESRB listing confirms both Zelda and Link are playable characters in Echoes of Wisdom. Rated E 10+, the game features no microtransactions. The description highlights Zelda's quest to seal rifts across Hyrule and rescue Link. Gameplay mechanics differ: Link wields sword and arrows, while Zelda utilizes a magic wand to summon creatures like wind-up knights and slime for combat. Enemies are defeated through various means, including fire and dissolving into mist.

This marks a monumental shift for the Zelda franchise, giving Princess Zelda her first starring role. The game's popularity is undeniable, having quickly become a top wishlisted title following its summer showcase announcement.

The extent of Link's playable segments remains undisclosed. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches September 26, 2024.

Hyrule Edition Switch Lite: Pre-Orders Open!

To coincide with the game's release, Nintendo offers a special Zelda-themed Hyrule Edition Switch Lite, now available for pre-order. This golden console features the Hyrule crest and a Triforce symbol. Note that the game is not included; however, it bundles a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription for $49.99.
