Beginner's Guide to Building Ultimate Defense

Author : Caleb Update:Apr 20,2025

*Build Defense* is a thrilling *Roblox* game where you construct bases from blocks while facing a variety of threats like monster attacks, tornados, bombs, and even alien invasions. At first, it might seem reminiscent of *Minecraft* with a twist, but it's actually closer in spirit to the original *Fortnite*—a nostalgic nod for those who remember its early days.

Regardless of its inspirations, *Build Defense* offers a fun-filled experience packed with learning opportunities. To help you navigate this engaging world, we've put together this Beginner’s Guide to enhance your gameplay and accelerate your progress.

Build Defense Beginner’s Guide

The object of the game is to survive…

When you're dropped into your world and onto your plot of land, you might think the goal is to keep your plot safe. Not quite! **The true objective is to survive, or simply put, not to die.** The game will challenge you with numerous dangers, and your task is to overcome them. Ideally, you'll do this from the safety of your plot by building a robust defensive structure. However, if you're feeling adventurous, you can also **roam the world until the threat passes**—a strategy that has proven effective for us. Each time you survive, you earn a "Win" and some in-game currency. **Accumulating Wins is key to progressing in the game.** So, keep an eye on the screen messages, and focus on staying alive.

… dying is completely normal

**Don't panic if you die.** It's a common occurrence, and the consequences are minimal. Upon death, you'll respawn immediately, lose your items, and fail the current wave of enemies, but none of these setbacks are game-ending. **You can repurchase your weapons and items**, and rest assured, **monsters and disasters won't destroy your structures**. New attack waves come every two minutes, giving you plenty of chances to try again. In essence, **all you lose is a bit of time**, which isn't a big deal.

Build high, not low

We initially thought building a wall around our plot would suffice to keep monsters at bay, but this approach left us vulnerable. The monsters would exploit any entry or exit points we created. A more effective strategy is to **construct a set of stairs leading high into the sky and build a platform at the top**. When night falls, you can retreat to this lofty perch and wait out the danger. Climbing monsters are likely to fall off the steep stairs, and any that reach the top can be met with a **barrage of turrets**. This setup is nearly foolproof and should see you through most nights.

Don’t just build, explore!

The island offers much more than just your plot to explore. You can visit other players, trade ores, and **embark on quests**. Most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, but some, like the **Gingerbread’s House quest**, are available from the start. Completing these quests is beneficial as they unlock new and exciting building components.

The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance in the game, don't overlook the Shop. **Most items there can be purchased with in-game currency**, but you'll need to accumulate Wins first, so play a bit before diving in. Also, remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group and to like, favorite, and follow the game to receive a free gift.

When you’re ready, move to the next area

Once you've secured 190 Wins, you can transition to the next area and start the cycle anew. You'll encounter fresh disasters, new Quests, and innovative building options.

That’s the essence of *Build Defense*. Enjoy the challenge of surviving and constructing in this dynamic game. Don't forget to check out our *Build Defense* codes for some fantastic in-game freebies.
