Paradox Interactive has unveiled its ambitious plans for Crusader Kings III in 2025, launching Chapter IV: a year dedicated to expanding the game's reach into Asia, introducing exciting new mechanics and vast new territories to explore.
The journey begins with the recently released Crowns of the World cosmetic DLC. This stylish pack provides players with six new crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, offering enhanced customization options for their rulers.
Next up, on April 28th, Khans of the Steppe, the first major DLC, will unleash the Mongol hordes upon the game. Players will take on the role of the Great Khan, leading nomadic armies to conquer and dominate neighboring lands.
Following the Mongol invasion comes Coronations, a DLC scheduled for Q3 (July-September) that introduces a significant ceremonial mechanic. Players can now legitimize their rule through elaborate coronation events, complete with extravagant celebrations, solemn oaths, and crucial decisions shaping the kingdom's future. New advisor and vassal events will add further depth to political interactions, enriching the experience of royal succession.
The grand finale of Chapter IV is All Under Heaven, a massive expansion arriving later in the year. This expansion dramatically expands the game's map to encompass all of East Asia, featuring detailed representations of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian archipelago. Players will have access to a wealth of new regions to explore, conquer, and rule.
Between these major DLC releases, Paradox will continue to refine the game through regular patches, focusing on improving game systems and AI behavior. The developers actively encourage player feedback, with the next community Q&A session scheduled for March 26th.
