"Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Launches on iOS, Android, Steam September 11 with Full Switch DLC"

Author : Patrick Update:Apr 02,2025

When Square Enix unveiled the monster-collecting RPG *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* on the Nintendo Switch last year, it quickly won my heart despite some technical hiccups. Its enchanting charm and engaging gameplay loop set it apart from other *Dragon Quest* spinoffs, elevating it to the esteemed ranks of *Dragon Quest Builders 2*. I had anticipated a PC port following the pattern set by *Dragon Quest Treasures*, but the thought of a mobile release seemed far-fetched. However, Square Enix recently announced that *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* ($23.99) will be making its way to iOS, Android, and Steam on September 11th, complete with all previously released DLC, including the content from the *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* Digital Deluxe Edition. You can catch a glimpse of what's in store by watching the trailer below:

Square Enix has also shared comparison images on their official Japanese website, showcasing the game's visuals across mobile, Switch, and Steam platforms. Here's one such comparison image for you to check out:

However, it's worth noting that the online battle feature available in the Switch version, where players could engage in real-time battles, will not be included in the Steam and mobile versions, as confirmed by the respective store pages.

Currently, *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* is available on Nintendo Switch for $59.99 for the standard edition and $84.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. Having thoroughly enjoyed the game on Switch, I am eager to dive back in for a review on iPhone, iPad, and Steam Deck when it launches on the new platforms on September 11th. It's exciting to see Square Enix expanding the *Dragon Quest* series to mobile so soon after its original release. I had initially thought we might not see it on mobile until 2027, given the usual delays between console and mobile releases in the series, as seen with *Dragon Quest Builders*. The game is priced at $29.99 on mobile and $39.99 on Steam. You can pre-register for it on the App Store for iOS [here](#) and on Google Play for Android [here](#). Have you experienced *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* on Switch, or are you planning to give it a try on mobile and Steam when it releases in two weeks?
