Fortnite's Revamped Quest UI Receives Backlash
Epic Games' recent Fortnite update, introducing significant UI changes, has sparked considerable player discontent. While Chapter 6 Season 1 has been largely praised for its new map, movement system, and game modes (including Ballistic, Fortnite OG, and LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life), the quest UI redesign has proven controversial.
The January 14th update overhauled the quest system, replacing the previous list format with collapsible blocks and submenus. Although some players appreciate the cleaner aesthetic, many find the new structure cumbersome and time-consuming, particularly during matches where quick access to quests is crucial. The added layers of submenus necessitate increased menu navigation, potentially leading to premature eliminations, a complaint frequently voiced regarding the new Godzilla quests.

While the quest UI overhaul is unpopular, a separate change—the addition of Fortnite Festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings—has been well-received, expanding cosmetic customization options. This positive aspect, however, hasn't fully offset the negative reaction to the quest UI redesign. The overall sentiment suggests that while Fortnite's current state is largely positive, the quest UI remains a significant point of contention. The need for quicker, more streamlined quest access during gameplay is a key concern raised by the community.
