Freedom Wars Remastered features Abductors with visible health bars on their torsos. Players utilize various weapons and items to deplete this health. The game employs diverse damage types, each with unique effects. While Light Melee weapons often sever body parts, Impact Damage plays a similar, strategically important role.
Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage mechanics and its effective application in Freedom Wars Remastered.
Understanding Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee and certain Ranged weapons. While a numerical value often accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly increase overall damage. Instead, it's non-elemental damage that boosts the power of normal attacks, accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter causes the Abductor to stagger, providing a crucial window for substantial damage before recovery.
Unlike the readily visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. Staggering can occur at any point once the rate surpasses a threshold. This presents both advantages and challenges. Offline play allows for charged attacks and maximized damage output. However, in online play, staggering might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors react uniquely to staggering; for instance, Ramosa retreats. Precise hits become more difficult during this period.

To enhance Stagger Damage, access the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization. Utilize the Manufacture Modules feature to create modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Synthesise Modules allows combining identical modules to upgrade their effectiveness. Attach the crafted module to your weapon to increase Impact Damage and stagger capabilities.
Since Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements maximizes stagger efficiency. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are especially beneficial for players using heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons with high inherent stagger potential.
