As anticipated, the release date for *Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater* was officially confirmed during Sony's State of Play 2025 broadcast, accompanied by an exciting new trailer. The game is set to launch on August 28, 2025, a date that was previously leaked through the PlayStation Store, along with the trailer.
Adding to the excitement, an Ape Escape collaboration was teased, hinting at a nod to the original *Metal Gear Solid 3* which included a memorable monkey minigame. Players will recall Snake using stun grenades and his 'Monkey Shaker' gun to neutralize the animals. Furthermore, the teaser concluded with a message promising "And More," suggesting additional crossovers on the horizon for this eagerly awaited title.
While *Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater* introduces a new first-person perspective, it remains largely a faithful recreation of the original game. IGN's preview described it as "more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been," praising its beauty while noting its adherence to the source material.
