Developer Pocketpair has unveiled an exciting new addition to their universe with the announcement of Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim set in the beloved monster-catching world. Contrary to what you might think, this isn't an April Fools' Day prank. Announced on March 31, 2025, the game aims to introduce a romantic twist to the Palworld experience.
Given the timing, just a day before April Fools' Day, fans are understandably skeptical. The gaming community is bracing for an influx of fake game announcements and humorous stunts as April 1 rolls around. However, Pocketpair has made it clear: Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a legitimate project, inspired by their 2024 April Fools' gag that initially introduced the concept as a jest. Now, it's set to become a reality, coming to PC via Steam at a future date yet to be specified.
The dating sim promises a unique experience within the Palworld universe. Players will step into the shoes of a transfer student at the prestigious Palagos Private Academy, where they can befriend and potentially fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals. Characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress, and the "timid" Chillet, are highlighted on the game's official Steam page, drawing names directly from Palworld's creature roster.
"You, the protagonist, enroll as a transfer student in the prestigious Palagos Private Academy," explains an official description from Pocketpair. "You will meet unique friends (pals) and enjoy school life through friendship and romance. It's up to you whether you stay friends with the pals, develop romantic relationships with them, or even dismember and eat them."
This doesn't concern April Fools :)

Additionally, there's a glimmer of hope for those wishing for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld, and fans are hopeful that the dating sim might also make its way to the console in the future.
