Pokémon TCG Pocket to Drop Trade Feature, Space-Time Smackdown Expansion Soon

Pokémon TCG Pocket is set to roll out some thrilling updates that fans have been eagerly waiting for. The much-anticipated trading feature is finally making its way into the game, along with the exciting Space-Time Smackdown expansion. This means you'll soon be able to trade cards with your friends directly within the game, enhancing your Pokémon TCG experience.

When Is Pokémon TCG Pocket Dropping Space-Time Smackdown and Trading?

Mark your calendars! Starting January 29th, 2025, you can begin trading cards within Pokémon TCG Pocket. Following closely, on January 30th, 2025, the Space-Time Smackdown expansion will be released. This update will also refresh your digital binder and display board with stylish new covers featuring the iconic Pokémon Dialga, Palkia, and Darkrai.

The introduction of the trading feature has been long-awaited. To participate in trading, you'll need two new items: trade hourglasses and trade tokens. Keep in mind that the cards eligible for trading are limited to rarity levels 1-4 and ★1. Initially, you'll only be able to trade cards from the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island expansions, but the developers have assured us that more cards will become tradeable in future updates.

The Space-Time Smackdown expansion delves into the rich lore of the Sinnoh region. This expansion introduces two new booster packs, spotlighting the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, along with fresh card illustrations that are sure to captivate fans. Additionally, you'll encounter Lucario, the formidable steel-and-fighting type, and the beloved Sinnoh starter Pokémon: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.
