Pokémon Unite Ranks: A Complete Guide

Author : Eleanor Update:Jun 15,2025

*Pokémon Unite*, the wildly popular mobile and Nintendo Switch title, brings competitive Pokémon battles to life through its structured online ranking system. Players can test their skills in solo and team-based ranked matches, climbing the ladder across six distinct ranks—each featuring multiple sub-classes for progressive advancement. Understanding how the ranking system works is essential for players aiming to improve their standing and earn exclusive seasonal rewards.

All *Pokémon Unite* Ranks, Explained

In total, there are six main ranks in *Pokémon Unite*, each divided into several classes that allow players to track their progress before advancing to the next full rank. The number of classes increases slightly with higher ranks, offering a more granular measure of skill progression. It's important to note that only participation in ranked matches contributes to rank advancement—quick or standard matches do not affect your rating.

The complete list of ranks in *Pokémon Unite* includes:

  • Beginner Rank (3 Classes)
  • Great Rank (4 Classes)
  • Expert Rank (5 Classes)
  • Veteran Rank (5 Classes)
  • Ultra Rank (5 Classes)
  • Master Rank (No Classes)

Getting Started – Beginner Rank

The journey begins at the **Beginner Rank**, which consists of three initial classes. To unlock access to ranked play, players must first reach Trainer Level 6, maintain a Fair Play score of at least 80, and collect five Pokémon licenses. Once these prerequisites are met, players can enter the ranked match game mode and begin their climb from the Beginner Rank.

Earning Performance Points

Each ranked match grants players **Performance Points** based on individual performance, sportsmanship, and participation. Here’s how the point system breaks down:

  • 5–15 Points: Based on overall performance during the match.
  • 10 Points: Awarded for good sportsmanship.
  • 10 Points: Given simply for participating.
  • 10–50 Bonus Points: Earned depending on the length of your winning streak.

Each rank also has a set cap for Performance Points. Once this cap is reached, players begin earning one **Diamond Point per match**, which is key to advancing in class and rank. Here are the Performance Point caps for each rank:

  • Beginner Rank: 80 Points
  • Great Rank: 120 Points
  • Expert Rank: 200 Points
  • Veteran Rank: 300 Points
  • Ultra Rank: 400 Points
  • Master Rank: No Cap

Climbing the Ladder – Diamond Points and Advancement Rewards

To move up in class, players need to accumulate **Diamond Points**—four points will advance you to the next class within the same rank. Upon reaching the highest class in a given rank, players automatically progress to the first class of the next rank. Each victory in a ranked match earns one Diamond Point, while losses deduct one point. Additionally, once a player maxes out their Performance Point meter for the current rank, they continue to earn one Diamond Point per match.

At the end of each season, players receive **Aeos Tickets** based on their final rank. These tickets are used to purchase various items and upgrades from the Aeos Emporium. Higher ranks yield more Aeos Tickets, and select ranks offer unique, rotating rewards each season.

With a clear understanding of the ranking system, players can now focus on improving their gameplay, climbing the ranks, and claiming the best rewards available in *Pokémon Unite*.
