Power Rangers May Get Live-Action Series Revival on Disney+
The Wrap reports that Percy Jackson showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are in negotiations to develop a live-action Power Rangers series for Disney+ through 20th Century TV.
Hasbro, which owns Power Rangers, reportedly aims to refresh the franchise for modern audiences while maintaining its nostalgic appeal for longtime fans.

The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers became cultural phenomenon in the 1990s, captivating young viewers with its team of teenage superheroes and their transformable robotic Megazords.
Hasbro purchased the Power Rangers intellectual property from Saban Properties in 2018 for $522 million, believing strongly in the franchise's commercial potential.
"Power Rangers presents significant growth opportunities across our entire brand strategy," said then-Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner during the acquisition announcement. "We envision expansion in toys, games, consumer products, digital entertainment, and global retail markets."
The acquisition followed the unsuccessful 2017 film reboot that attempted a darker take on the franchise intended to launch a cinematic universe. Poor theatrical performance led to abandoned sequel plans and Saban's eventual sale to Hasbro.
Hasbro currently has multiple major entertainment projects in development, including Netflix's live-action Dungeons & Dragons series The Forgotten Realms, an animated Magic: The Gathering adaptation, and plans for a Magic cinematic universe.
