Reddit users are buzzing about a plot centered on a brutal power struggle within the ultra-wealthy Bennett family – think Succession, but with significantly more guns.

The leaked character list includes a cast of Bennetts: Layla, Dax, Bry, Christian, Henry, and Christa. But the real standout among the villains is Ian Duncan, a conspiracy theorist with a dedicated following whose resentment of the elite fuels his ambitious plans. John McKay and Dr. Safna Kazan are also mentioned, potentially in key supporting roles.
The biggest surprise? The rumored setting: New England. This would mark a first for the Far Cry series, venturing far from its usual tropical or exotic locales. While Ubisoft remains tight-lipped, the New England setting is reportedly mentioned explicitly in casting calls, lending credence to the rumor. This historic region, encompassing six states including Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, offers a drastically different backdrop for the franchise's signature brand of mayhem.
Adding another layer to the mystery, industry insider Tom Henderson previously hinted that Far Cry 7 might actually be split into two separate games, both potentially launching in 2026. Until Ubisoft confirms these details, however, it's all speculation – but exciting speculation nonetheless. The potential for a New England setting and a family drama storyline certainly points towards a departure from previous entries in the series.
