Star Wars Tactics Game Unveiled at 2025 Celebration

Author : Alexis Update:Mar 29,2025

EA's much-anticipated Star Wars turn-based tactics game is set to be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Announced back in early 2022, this exciting new project is being developed by Bit Reactor, a studio founded by veterans from Firaxis Games, renowned for their work on the XCOM franchise. Bit Reactor has been collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the Star Wars Jedi series, to bring this game to life. Fans can look forward to the first reveal on April 19, 2025, during a live panel that will feature key members from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games, as confirmed by the official Star Wars Celebration 2025 schedule.

While details about the game remain under wraps, including the era in which it's set and the specifics of its gameplay, the involvement of XCOM veterans suggests a strategic, turn-based experience infused with the iconic elements of the Star Wars universe. Enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting more information about this mysterious title.

Respawn Entertainment, in addition to this collaboration, is busy with the third installment of their Star Wars Jedi trilogy. However, there's no confirmation yet on whether this game will make an appearance at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration. It's worth noting that Respawn had been developing another Star Wars project, a first-person shooter with a rumored Mandalorian protagonist, but this was unfortunately canceled amid a significant restructuring at EA that resulted in around 670 job losses. Additionally, earlier in March, Respawn quietly canceled a multiplayer first-person shooter project, affecting an unspecified number of staff.

Star Wars Celebration 2025 promises more than just gaming news. Lucasfilm will also offer a sneak peek at the upcoming film, The Mandalorian & Grogu, set to release in May 2026, as well as a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, adding to the excitement for fans of the franchise.
