Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed
A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases its revamped gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at this dystopian action RPG. Players will once again battle colossal mechanical creatures, upgrade their equipment using harvested parts, and tackle challenging missions within a resource-depleted world.
The remastered version boasts significant enhancements. Beyond improved visuals, the game features a faster pace, thanks to refined mechanics and increased movement speed. Crafting and upgrading have been streamlined with user-friendly interfaces and the addition of attachable/detachable modules, including a new module synthesis feature. This allows players to boost their gear using resources obtained from rescued citizens. A new "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode challenges seasoned players, and all original customization DLC is included.
Freedom Wars Remastered's origins lie in Sony's response to Capcom's decision to shift the Monster Hunter franchise to Nintendo consoles. The game, initially a PS Vita exclusive, shares a similar gameplay loop with Monster Hunter, but with a distinctly futuristic setting. Players take on the role of a "Sinner," sentenced to complete missions for their city-state (Panopticon), ranging from rescue operations to the destruction of Abductors (giant mechanical creatures). These missions can be undertaken solo or cooperatively online.
The trailer highlights the visual upgrade, with PS5 and PC versions reaching 4K resolution at 60 FPS, PS4 at 1080p 60 FPS, and Switch at 1080p 30 FPS. The enhanced speed and refined mechanics promise a more dynamic and engaging experience.
Freedom Wars Remastered launches January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.
