Remedy Entertainment's annual report brings exciting news for gamers: Control 2 has triumphantly passed the concept validation stage and is now in full production. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the project, ensuring fans that the highly anticipated sequel is on track for development.
In addition to Control 2, two other projects are actively progressing: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were in the early stages of preparation, but they have since advanced to the next phase of development. However, fans should note that Kestrel, a project previously developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been canceled and removed from the studio's lineup since May of last year.
All of these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has demonstrated its prowess in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy creations, ensuring high-quality gaming experiences.
Regarding the budget, Control 2 is set with an estimated cost of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak comes with a slightly lower budget of 30 million euros. This title will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The budget for the remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remains undisclosed, but they are confirmed to be AAA-level productions. Both development and marketing costs are being fully covered by Rockstar Games, adding another layer of excitement and anticipation for these iconic titles.
