ASTRA: Knights of Veda Bids Farewell to English Dubbing
Following a trend among gacha games, ASTRA: Knights of Veda will be removing its English voiceovers after maintenance on January 23, 2025. This decision, announced by developer FLINT on January 20th, aims to bolster game stability and enhance localization quality.

The January 23rd maintenance will also remove support for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, and Italian. While English text will remain, in-game voiceovers for players outside Korea will default to Japanese. FLINT assures players that this change won't affect in-game chat functionality in any previously supported language.

This isn't an isolated incident. Several other gacha games have made similar adjustments:
-
War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: Square Enix removed English voiceovers for new content starting in May 2024, prioritizing Japanese for future updates. Existing content retains English dubbing.
-
Aether Gazer: In February 2024, Yostar Games removed all English voiceovers due to cited financial constraints, focusing resources on gameplay and future content.
-
Snowbreak: Containment Zone: Amazing Seasun Games removed English voiceovers in December 2023, citing an evaluation of player preferences and optimization of the gaming experience.

The trend suggests a prioritization of either player language preference (favoring the most popular language) or resource management (reducing the ongoing costs of maintaining multiple voice-over tracks). This allows developers to reinvest in other areas crucial for the game's long-term success.
