Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Does the Business for Embracer as It Nears 2 Million Copies Sold

Author : Jacob Update:Mar 06,2025

Embracer Group celebrates the phenomenal success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, reporting sales nearing the 2 million mark just ten days after its February 4th launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game initially sold 1 million copies in a single day, nearly doubling that figure in the following week. This achievement marks a significant milestone for developer Warhorse Studios.

Steam performance was particularly impressive, with over 250,000 peak concurrent players—a stark contrast to the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 seven years prior. While the actual peak concurrent player count is undoubtedly higher due to console sales, precise figures remain unavailable from Sony and Microsoft.

Embracer, parent company of Warhorse Studios via its subsidiary Plaion, highlights the game's success in player reception, critical acclaim, and sales performance. CEO Lars Wingefors attributes this to Warhorse Studios' dedication and Deep Silver's publishing efforts. He anticipates continued strong revenue generation over the coming years, citing the game's high quality and immersive gameplay. A planned roadmap includes updates and new content throughout the next year.

Beyond Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer anticipates the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (January-March 2025). The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on its pipeline, including ten triple-A titles slated for release over the next three fiscal years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these originate from internal studios, and two from external partners.

FY 2025/26 will see two triple-A releases towards the year's end. Other notable mid-size releases include the Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, with additional unannounced titles.

Following recent restructuring and studio divestments (including Gearbox and Saber Interactive), Embracer retains 4A Games, currently developing a new entry in the Metro series.
