Marvel Rivals game-breaking bug punishes players with low FPS

A Marvel Rivals glitch severely disadvantages players with less powerful PCs. Low FPS (frames per second) causes several heroes to move slower and inflict reduced damage, effectively creating a pay-to-win scenario where superior hardware, not in-game purchases, dictates success.

This is undeniably a bug, not an intended game mechanic. However, a swift fix is unlikely due to the complex nature of the problem. The root cause involves the Delta Time parameter—a crucial element in ensuring consistent gameplay regardless of frame rate. Addressing this fundamental aspect of game design will require considerable developer time and effort.

Currently, the following heroes are known to be affected: Doctor Strange, Wolverine, Venom, Magik, and Star-Lord. These characters exhibit slower movement, reduced jump height, and diminished damage output. Other heroes may also be impacted. Until a patch is released, optimizing your FPS, even at the cost of visual fidelity, is the recommended workaround.
